How did I learn about LearnSci?
I was first introduced to LearnSci at the beginning of my university studies. My department regularly used LearnSci’s LabSims and Smart Worksheets as independent learning tools or integrated pre-lab resources. When I came across the opportunity to work with the organisation over the summer, I jumped at the chance. LearnSci offers a unique opportunity to bridge the worlds of science and business, allowing them to meet hand-in-hand in a meaningful and innovative way.
What did I achieve during my internship?
During my internship, I worked primarily with the Smart Worksheet Development team. I focussed on a few key tasks, including user testing, data analysis, writing cell labels, AI testing and interactive testing. I was given the freedom and space to try my hand at a few different tasks and find my footing, with a lot of guidance and support along the way, of course.
On a personal level I feel like I gained an immense sense of accountability and responsibility since LearnSci is a remote environment. I learned the importance and value behind hard work as I saw immediate results as some of my recommendations were integrated into the Smart Worksheets. Overall I gained a lot of experiential knowledge at this internship.
What was it like working alongside the LearnSci team?
I had a great experience working with the LearnSci team! Any chance I got to speak to anyone on the team I was always met with warm and valuable advice. Everyone fostered an inclusive and supportive environment, and truly listened and valued my ideas, which was so new to me as an intern. Overall it was a collaborative and encouraging space to grow and contribute. Working with the LearnSci team really set a high bar for future work environments!
